The storm caused problems across Edmonton. Roads flooded, trees fell, and some buildings and public infrastructure were damaged. EADCC was one of many places affected.
Water entered the basement, leaving volunteers and community members with a major cleanup. They worked together to remove water, clean the space, and check for damage to equipment, furniture, and other belongings.
Although the flooding caused a setback, it also showed the strength of the Deaf community. Volunteers came together quickly to help clean up and support the community centre so it could reopen as soon as possible.
